FIRST T-SHIRT COLLECTION

Corpus Opus Édition
New York Abidjan

The first collection will begin with T-shirts drawn from Yaz’s Corpus Opus imagery. The artworks seen on the perfume bottles become prints to wear, extending the same story from the gallery to the skin and the garment.

This first design study explores New York Abidjan: the artwork on the front and the fragrance’s origins on the back, signed with the Corpus Opus Édition name.

NEW YORK ABIDJAN

It began with a conversation in Bali. Around ten years ago, we brought Fab Five Freddy to KU DE TA. He spoke about his friend Jean-Michel Basquiat and New York in the early 1980s.

Years later, those memories became an artwork, then a fragrance. Basquiat visited Abidjan in 1986 and planned to return in 1988. His death left that journey unfinished. The Missed Flight imagines what might have followed.

Cool mineral notes. Warm spices. Dry cocoa. Deep woods.

A meeting. A memory. An image. A fragrance.

402

Before we knew it was a movement. The visual world of 402 moves onto a black T-shirt: a small square print centered on the front, bringing together the bus, the skateboards, the urban collage, and the acid-yellow number.

On the back, the memory behind the fragrance: friends in the Paris suburbs, a bus route, and the freedom of discovering a culture before giving it a name.

402

Before skateparks. Before brands.
Before we knew it was a movement.

In the 1980s and 1990s, the 402 bus crossed Corbeil, Évry, Ris-Orangis and Grigny. With Jean-Marc and André, we held onto the back, skateboards under our feet, simply to ride.

We did not know a culture was taking shape elsewhere. We were not trying to belong. We were riding.

402 carries that freedom: asphalt, speed, friendship, and a time when we discovered things before giving them a name.

Clean East. Wood

A painter’s shirt, a Japanese forest, and a memory of clean linen. The visual world of Clean East. Wood becomes a small square print on the front of a black T-shirt.

On the back, the story of a painting stay in Hakuba: laundry drying in the mountain air, the woods of the chalet, and the scents of the studio.

CLEAN EAST. WOOD

In Hakuba, in the mountains of Nagano, I rented a chalet to spend a few months painting.

After every wash, I hung my laundry outside. As it dried, it took on the scent of the forest. Mingling with that freshness were the woods of the chalet, the oil paint, the acrylics, and the turpentine in my studio.

That encounter stayed with me: extraordinarily clean linen, infused with the landscape and the life of a painter.

Clean East. Wood grew from my desire to rediscover that scent. Luminous cotton, Japanese woods, a resinous nuance, and a veil of incense.

ON SKIN. ON FABRIC.

The Tunnel — New York ’93

Industrial brickwork, the club’s long interior, and a fragment of red neon. The artistic collage inspired by archival references for The Tunnel — New York ’93 becomes a small square print on the front of a black T-shirt.

The back tells the story of a first crossing with Boris and friends from the Paris suburbs: the records, the savings, the flight, and the moment the music became something to feel.

THE TUNNEL
NEW YORK ’93

Before the night, there was the dream. The records we played in the Paris suburbs. The money we saved. Then a plane ticket: crossing the Atlantic for a night at the Tunnel.

I set off with Boris and our friends. New York, 1993. The door opens. The night swallows me. Beneath the red neon, I feel the bass in my chest before I understand the words.

Cold metal. Black incense. Warm vinyl. Lime. Wet asphalt. Skin warmed by the night.

Years later, those memories became a fragrance. A first crossing. A friendship. A dream that became our reality for one night.

The bass in the concrete. The night on the skin.

Smell Better With You

A hat, hands on a mixer, and the memory of a track that never left. The black-and-white visual of Smell Better With You becomes a small square print on the front.

On the back, the story of hearing Stardust and the French Touch: a filtered loop, a floating voice, and a fragrance that returns to the warmth of a Parisian dancefloor.

SMELL BETTER
WITH YOU

1998. A memory of the French Touch.

The first time I heard Music Sounds Better With You by Stardust, something stayed with me. A filtered loop. A floating voice. A track entering your life and never leaving.

This fragrance returns to that instant. Grapefruit and mandarin open with a bright, slightly bitter pulse. Lychee arrives like a refrain, juicy and rosy. Ambered vanilla settles on the skin, crossed by a shadow of oud.

The end of a night on a Parisian dancefloor, when the music keeps playing in your head.

Rivoli Injection

Vinyl. Asphalt. Paris. The monochrome perspective of Rivoli Injection, paired with a vinyl record, becomes a small square print on the front.

The back follows a moment during lockdown: crossing a silent Paris with a Leica and music, stopping on Rue de Rivoli, and turning that memory into a six-and-a-half-hour mix, then a fragrance.

RIVOLI INJECTION

VINYL. ASPHALT. PARIS.

During lockdown, I crossed Paris on my scooter, my Leica with me, music in my ears.

Rue de Rivoli was empty. The Louvre was closed. The perspective seemed endless.

I stopped to photograph the silence. Asphalt, stone, the air of a deserted city. I wanted to hold on to that moment.

I did not know it would become a six-and-a-half-hour mix, then the inspiration for a fragrance.

An injection of music into a city standing still.

Light through stone, a dark arch, and incense in the air. The visual world of Divine Shadow becomes a small square print on the front of a black T-shirt.

DIVINE SHADOW

THE SACRED BRINGS US TOGETHER.

From Notre-Dame to a temple in Japan, this fragrance imagines a passage between the incense of a church, the silence of a cathedral, the contemplation of a mosque, and the rituals of Buddhist and Hindu temples.

Beyond our different beliefs lies a shared longing: to reflect, to reach beyond ourselves, to feel connected.

Incense, iris, sandalwood and musk become an invisible thread between people and their places of worship.

VANILLE D’ALBIUS

A TRIBUTE TO EDMOND ALBIUS

Corpus Opus pays tribute to Edmond Albius, the young enslaved boy from Réunion who discovered a method of hand-pollinating vanilla in 1841, revolutionising its cultivation around the world.

Vanille d’Albius celebrates his ingenuity, his legacy, and the story of one of perfumery’s most precious raw materials.

PINK BEACH PROJECT

Paris, a rainy evening. Lights glide across the cobblestones. Two lovers walk slowly, held close to each other. As they talk, they mention a pink-sand beach, somewhere in the Komodo Islands.

No tickets yet. No departure date. Just a name, a few images, and a desire that grows as they speak.

Pink Beach Project begins at that moment: when a journey becomes a project for two.

Peach and lychee bring a luminous sweetness. Flowers unfold over sandalwood, musks and ambroxan.

On the label, the dreamed-of shore comes into view. A horizon they imagined together.

Paris on the skin. Pink Beach on the mind.

ENCENS DE OUF

WHERE LIGHT MEETS DEPTH.

After years of trials, experiments, and questioning my own work, I believe I have found a creation that lives up to my ambition. Its name: Encens de Ouf.

It begins with fresh, aromatic lavender. Then rose unfolds, incense takes its place, and resins bring depth. An unexpected freshness runs through the accord before woods and musks extend its trail.

What surprises me is this meeting of light and depth, of softness and character. From the very first trial, I felt something special.

Years of research.

PAY PER VIEW

PARIS, 1894. BALI, 2026.

A conversation with a journalist friend in Bali brought a question into focus: what becomes of desire when access to it can simply be bought?

The thought returned me to Au Salon de la Rue des Moulins, painted by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec in 1894: the waiting, the women, the everyday life of a brothel.

Across two different eras, desire, loneliness, seduction and transaction continue to intersect.

Pay Per View grew from that parallel: an observation of something enduringly human, without judging the women or condemning a generation.

DESIRE HAS ALWAYS HAD A PRICE.

RUE DE LA MUSE

THE QUIET OF THE MOUNTAINS.

A photograph taken in Switzerland, on Rue de la Muse, not far from Lake Geneva and a museum. It is summer.

Mountain freshness, forest shade, the presence of water, and warmth on the skin. A landscape at rest, where cool air meets sun-warmed stone.

The fragrance is being developed around that balance: bergamot and petitgrain, fresh water, green leaves, a hint of fir, cedar, sandalwood, soft musks and a mineral accord.

RUE BEL AIR

PARIS. AUTUMN. A LIFE REMEMBERED.

Rue Bel Air begins with memories of a life, held in a street in Paris. Autumn moves between the old buildings. Leaves fall, gathering along the pavement.

The air turns cool, and familiar places carry the feeling of years gone by.

The fragrance is being developed around that atmosphere: bergamot, petitgrain and pink pepper; dry leaves, black tea and iris; cedar, vetiver, a touch of patchouli and soft musks.

An accord of dry leaves, iris and cedar holds the texture of a season and the intimacy of a memory.

LE VŒU

A MOMENT. AN INTENTION. A WISH.

I am creating Corpus Opus with a conviction: perfume can take on a new role in our lives through art, stories, and the gestures we associate with it.

In the ideas of Joseph Murphy and Émile Coué, I find encouragement: to imagine a possibility, find the words to move forward, and nurture our determination.

Before putting on your perfume, take a moment. Put into words what matters to you. Choose a phrase that encourages you and an action that brings you closer to that intention.

Then wear the perfume.

I bring an image, a composition, a story. You add your wish and decide what comes next.

It all begins with a wish. The rest is yours.
